woods, late

walk in the company of streams
through chill evening, day's ash, grey
shadows clot into understanding night
a deer starts awake, hastens to hide life -
only black wings move now, dream leaves
high over wind stripped trees
hunting memories of kinship
let them go, Man's hubris arrows
all futures - we'll fall together
clustered on the coast's curve, lights foil
rich colours as in a chocolate box
holding soft centres' promised warmth

yes, much interesting
yes, much interesting interplaying imagery - I like the 'wind stripped trees' and the cool of the darkening evening. Also the touch and contrast of warmth drawing to the homes.
But I'm glad that Man's hubris isn't ultimately going to be sovereign over the outcome of history. Rhiannon

What a delicous last stanza
What a delicous last stanza you've created Di, all those rich colours coming together really stood out for me. In that first stanza, the idea of walking in the company of streams is a joyous thought.
Some lovely descriptions in your poem.
Jenny.
