Winter trees
Do you mourn
the falling of the
leaves?
Your shadow broken
Stiff, dead still
Dry boned boughs
The fractured skin
And some birds pass you by
See straight through you
But me
Whose eyes
nest in you
like spring
all impatient
Clawing at the
roots of you
Shoulder colour
through
'til dawn

I love trees too.

I like the content, the voice and the point of view but humbly - and with great respect, wonder if the line spacing serves your words as well as they could... just a thought because, I too, love trees and enjoyed your words.
