Capturing sunlight
the leaves to power
their multiplication
for shade from shower
or heat of noon-light
intense, so bright:
the soft, soothing screen
of chlorophyll green.

What a wonderful description of those gorgeous trees. Where would we be without the different shades of green to protect us from the sun's rays?

I don't know how I missed this, what a treasure. Brain scans have shown that looking into a forest  in full leaf is restorative, rather like sleep.  Access to safe, green spaces for all - and if that isn't possible then poems like this help a lot too.
