This lockdown has made me dance

I heard someone on the radio say there isn't a moment

when their hips aren't moving and I thought of the way

I walk from room to room, how I get up to close a window

or to take a book from the shelf or to open a window

my legs are so slow and functional but this dancer

on the radio has got me moving my waist and I shout

things out now too every night before I go to bed

I shout 'I'm going to bed now! Night everyone'

and it makes me laugh every time.

When you're learning a new language you should

your entire inner monologue should be in that language

that's the way to get better, the brain is such a busy thing

you're lucky if you've got a good one I've thought about

singing in the shower I bet that feels good but as soon

as the water is running I can never think of a good song.
