13/October
It is not pleasant out there. Not pleasant at all. Raining and raining non-stop. In times of plague, the damp weather is depressing. Though I am finding myself feeling inadequate for other reasons again. Reasons other than plague; my daughter was left out from a birthday party yesterday. Granted it was from a party of a son of a barrister- or the ice queen as known by other parents. The type anyone would like to hate! Perfect hair, perfect teeth (lesser postcode thankfully). I promise my little girl a horse-riding party with an added advantage of singling the child of the barrister woman! Her birthday is in March 2021. She has calmed down.
With my son, we resolve to be more disciplined, my husband and I. More Mathematics and Literacy. Then my phone rings, it is one of ex colleague from another life. She is in Cyprus now and is about to be an aunt again. She has another news for me, did I know that my ex boss die of complications from diabetes back in April? No, I didn’t. He was sixty and the last I spoke to him was last year. He was his jovial self. So I set out to have a little cry and compose a condolences email to his widow. Belated but better than never!
Piano lessons are awaiting us later in the evening. Rain, rain! Rain even in Spain!
