A Changed World

A virus-shaken world,
death not buried
now away from thought,
noticeable, noticed.
Prosperity undermined;
no quick way back
to dreams of ease
of recent times when most
had little lack.

Where is hope?
Many spared
many humbled
more caring?
progress with cures.

Unmasked:
the transience of all we possess,
the folly of greed,
revealed.

That which endures
immortal, unaffected by virus,
or behaviour callous
is sure,
unspoilable:
who is desirous
of such a better life
and such a better world?
A vibrant future.

Even as we put on masks to save ourselves, becoming aware of transience of posessions. Also as we distance from the living, thoughts of death are always close. Very good points, really well put! And a positive ending :0)

Thanks. So much change in thinking brought about by this serious time.

And so good to realise there is to be a world that can't be misused or polluted, and will be preserved from illness and decay – as it was meant to be at the beginning! Rhiannon
