Twin Towers

Nine-one-one is not just a number
that one dials when in dire need,
it is also a date that we remember
because of a devilish misdeed.
How can we forget the fateful day
when the twin towers fell to ground
and the kamikaze revelled in a fray
buzzing around with an eerie sound.
It was the most horrific sight to see:
buildings engulfed in a pall of smoke,
with people trapped desperate to flee,
unable to breathe, trying not to choke.
I was one remote, unwilling witness,
as the terror flashed onto the screen.
The fire and devastation were relentless:
it was the biggest disaster I’d ever seen.
The rescue parties were quick to arrive
and everybody taking part was a hero.
Saving lives was the major drive
on the site we know as Ground Zero.

Capturing a lot in a simple, clear way. 911 is the emergency number in the US isn't it? Rhiannon

A fitting memory of it.
A fitting memory of it. Watching a documentary about it again has reminded me of the extreme horror and extreme spectacle of it!

conspirencies
The conspiracy theory guys had a field day with this one. Their stories sound very convincing, they are all over very where now the conpirancy guys. Now they go too far, now they even say the WWF wrestling is fake.

I remember vividly watching
I remember vividly watching the TV coverage at the time. Simply stunned. Let's hope something like this never happens again. Eloquent and rhythmic, of course Luigi
