[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Never again would He flood the whole earth.
Yearly the seasons will bring plants’ rebirth.
Tells of the Day we shall each of us see
earth soon transformed, from all damage set free!
Growth in the spring bringing autumn’s good yield,
gardens, allotments, and harvested field:
wealth of provision to store and to share,
then through the cold, for the springtime prepare.
So too prepare for God’s Harvesting Day
Jesus will gather up all those who pray,
trust, ask His pardon, received by the grace
purchased on Calvary – his death in their place.
Tune: 10 10 10 10 eg Slane, tune of ‘Be Thou My Vision'
"As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." Genesis 8:22 "Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth." Genesis 9:11

bringing in the sheaves
"Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master, though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves;
When our weeping’s over, He will bid us welcome, we shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves".
