Disinterested

"I like to sit on the fence
agree with all
supporting none
– it’s an awkward perch,
for with a thoughltess lurch
I can fall on my nose
and my ignorance disclose.
Why bother to listen or think
I’ll stay on the brink
treat all as a jest
and hope for the best
– will I someday regret
my gamble and bet
that I need not pay heed …"

Sitting on the fence is often
Sitting on the fence is often the best way Rhiannon. Even if we have opinions that are from one side of the fence or the other it's sometimes best to keep quiet about it.
This is a nice poem to read. I enjoyed it.

I know what you mean, it is
I know what you mean, it is frustrating when someone doesn't have any opinion about something I think about a lot, on the other hand, having come to live somewhere where it matters to some people if you are Catholic or not, or Celtic or Rangers, I am glad not to have the intensity of being included and necessarily excluded, even if it means never really belonging. I admire people who wear their faith lightly, but show it with their kindness, and fans who are passionate but not angry or despising those of other teams

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Very thought provoking poem. As one who tries very hard to avoid conflict, I probably am guilty of sitting on the fence at times.

"thoughtless lurch..." Yes,
"thoughtless lurch..." Yes, best avoided but not always easy to take a moment before acting for many of us. Enjoyed the rhythm, care and attention in this poem, Rhiannon. Paul
