None Stranger
Stranger than most
Haunted by what you see
A pale, drawn shadow, a ghost
Tell me what might you be?
From the moment I saw you I wondered.
Who are you and why do you glare?
From where have you wandered?
Why for your inscrutable stare?
Furrowed in thought
Life lines aplenty
What has life brought
Expressionless eyes so empty
Weary, haggard and worn
Clearly time has taken its toll
Regretting the day you were born?
Just waiting, waiting the final call
I paused to gauge your intention
Your burden expression seemed vast
Mirrored in sad reflection
That face staring back from the glass
A lifelong mystery
From cradle or manger
Just what is your history?
I perceive none stranger
