unkissed

Many my days and many my tomorrows
Until you no longer remember me in your prayers
Shame burns away our ignorance and confusion
Some unholy night’s vast glimmerings
Peace and unfiltered pain aground in our vast bay
The slow cadence of life’s sadness strained
A spreading coffee-stain of stars
Binding me to you like a new moon
Fear holds us like a rejoicing
Blanked by our fated calling
Unkissed

"The slow cadence of life's sadness strained.." A bitter sweet message encased in poetic words. Very nicely done, CM.

So sad to have lost a loved
So sad to have lost a loved one, or to have lost contact with one who has been loved.
This line ...
Until you no longer remember me in your prayers
oozes sadness.amongst your beautifully written words.

Melancholy and reflective,
Melancholy and reflective, words striking chords of attraction and predictive loss, flowing rhythmically down to the final, sorrowful line, unkissed.

Some personal echos in this
Some personal echos in this for me. Strange how a certain order of words can conjure an emotion like that.
A spreading coffee-stain of stars is an unusual, but very apt image.

'Until you no longer remember
'Until you no longer remember me in your prayers', A long extinguished flame can suddenly re-ignite without warning but an unkissed state is one of both sadness and peace. I love the flow and movement. When something is so far out of reach you have to have an out of body experience to touch it.

Strange and beautiful- my
Strange and beautiful- my favourite kind of poem. I completely missed this last week - I love it. It's also Pick of the Day. Do share on Facebook and Twitter. The painting that I added is a Whistler from here: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Whistler-Nocturne_in_black_and...

A deep and meaningful poem
A deep and meaningful poem that I would have missed if it hadn't been brought to my attention by the Pick of the Dy. It would have been such a shame.
Thanks for posting it.
Best, Luigi

Morning Jack,
I read this because I read everything you post. Then I read it again, because
a) you seldom write poetry,
b) it is a terrific piece of poetry,
c) because I could, as it's posted here for as long as you leave it up.
Very well done.

If you wouldn't mind Jack I would add three words...shame and our love burns away our ignorance and confusion. Makes even more sense to me, in a universal sort of way, if you know what I mean
