Fly Like An Eagle

Another Meditation:
I'm aware in realm of dreams
anything's possible: now deep
lucid connections with sky take
imagination where breathing
space is my own free will
transcending.
Flying independently, not
fraught with fear when
traveling to far off lands,
watching giant wings
appear,
soaring high eagle settles
on the breeze, I observe its
journey across mountain
peaks, with shrewd eyes
combing forest canopy,
freedom surging relaxed
state, till once more with
determined effort rhythm
of engaging beating wings
returns, then enduring energy
no longer leaves spirit weak.
I too feel that air carry me,
exploring high dangerous
ridges, hitching ride on ever
changing winds; if only in my
mind,
feeling time consume me, on
each breath the blood of life
flows through my veins, and
inner self is restored, clearing
way for fresh new dawns.

So much freedom demonstrated
So much freedom demonstrated here in your words Jenny. There is the part of us that gets old, tired and limited and then this side where anything is possible. 'Hitching a ride on ever changing winds', as long as we can do that, there's a reason to keep going.

Hi Jenny,
Hi Jenny,
A marvellous sense of freedom in this poem. I could imagine with you soaring so high.

Floating on the air and
Floating on the air (in imagination) and dreamily observing the countryside is ever a relaxing enjoyable state. And refreshing for facing the labour!
I love some verses in Isaiah, the prophet in the Bible: "Even youths grow tired and waery, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." (40:30,31) Rhiannon

Love the air and flight in
Love the air and flight in this, Jenny. One of those poems that carries you away for a bit and then puts you down gently.

thunderbolt
Here is a little poem for you Jenny it's by Tennyson,
The Eagle, He clasps the crag with crooked hands; Close to the sun in lonely lands, Ring'd with the azure world, he stands. The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls.
Lord Tennyson
Imagine you could write like that! & Nolan
