Karine locked her front door and set off past the hedge that separated her garden from next door's
She heard a chirp it sounded questionning it was followed by several others that sounded desperate
She parted the hedge as gently as she could and saw a bright beady eye gazing up at her it seemed to belong to a blue cockateel. With infinite precautions she managed to free him he flew up and nestled on her shoulder. She took him home and phoned a friend who had a large aviary the friend arrived with a small cage which held food and water together they eased the bird into the cage. The plan was to take the bird home with the friend who would place the cage next to her aviary so tne bird would have company but as they say tbe best laid plans and on the way home the cage door opened and the bird flew away. Panic set in and they started running to try and catch the escapee. On their way they met a small boy whose cheeks were streaked with tears on his shoulder sat the bird. Seeking to find out the reason for his distress they learned that tbe boy had had a bird very simolar to this one and who had died when suddenly out of the blue another bird had landed on his shoulder to bring him comfort.

A bird is made to fly
A bird is made to fly. Beautiful story and the boy is very kind I know people that would just chase away any kind of new friend while wallowing in self-pity for years. I've been victim myself. Good riddance and yes thank heavens and goodbye.
I had budgies a yellow one and a blue. That blue budgie had just one thing on his mind. Escape. Till one day he got out while I was giving them food and that he got out when I turned my back and it was middle winter. We looked for him everywhere he was gone.
So he had his flight of freedom his life's dream. I feel it was worthwhile for him and he would want it so and even then of dying of cold.
All the best –Tom
