Little pink and white soft striped trumpets
‘necklaces’ brightening up the verge
like marsh-mallow treats dotted here and there
smiling, skitteriing along the short grass
clinging, climbing among the weeds.

Hi Rhiannon, I have to admit
Hi Rhiannon, I have to admit they do look like marsh-mallow treats, what a great description. Their beauty shines through in your poem.

I love these, too :0) I dug up some pink ones from the bit of land over the road before is was cleared, but when they came out this year they had become white, so the pink colour maybe only works in lots of sunshine? They are like marshmallows! Extravagant as circus tents in all the dock leaves and nettles :0) I liked your describing words, smiling, skittering, clinging, climbing, all the "i" sounds for their finery. Thankyou for reminding me of them

You have captured their
You have captured their sweetness beautifully. The pink and white hues are just like marshmallows, and skittering describes their growing habit perfectly. To me, field bindweed is the ultimate 'flower fairies' flower and I always enjoy spotting them, often in dry sunny spots where they seem to thrive.
