Mysterious Times

It’s dark.
The tent is like a pimple beside
lake shore. Mosquitoes absent
themselves from windy
space devoid of trees
& grass. That sound.
Leaves swishing? A branch
breaking from
the weight of a bear?
Camping is magnificent-
night-stars full of sky
grunts & other noises from
birds - frogs – owls. Eerie
sounds & goose bump
feelings followed me
through a supper BBQ &
into the tent. A deer ate
an apple noisily waking me up.
This time I was not afraid.

Evocative memories. Nice to
Evocative memories. Nice to share. Reminded me of granddaughter emerging after we'd settled her last night, to say she's heard what she thought was a thief, and she was afraid. My husband had been earlier reading her a story where a missionary had had to trust God in a very difficult situation, so he had a good chat with her. Rhiannon

this is so evocative!
this is so evocative! "Camping is magnificent" I loved that :0) You had so much more to think about than I did as a child camping in the garden. Though we did have owls, and also foxes screaming which is VERY spooky, there was no possibility of bears!
