Isolated (Ch 2)

When I woke up the next morning I felt discontent. Discontent about myself, my surroundings, including him. When I got up he was already gone.I could hear the noise of his shitty mini-dirt bike buzz past the apartment. I was totally alone. I called for my dad to pick me up, but there was no answer. I packed my clothes and toiletries in my bag, put on my light jacket, and headed out.
The bus was no stranger to me as I relied heavily on rides from others and the bus itself. So when I jumped in I was accustomed to the piss stained seats and the smell of live human bodies melting due to the rays of light beaming on the windows. I made little jumps on my seat, potholes everywhere in this shithole of a city. The bus was normally crowded, me stuck between a tiresome mother and a man with a baby doll who he kept whispering his secrets to.
My whole body felt nauseated, unsure if it was the hunger, the stench, or the foreboding sense of doom lying in the pit of my stomach.
