Walk In December Snow

Most alluring are rise and
fall of remote hills, when
steeped in views of earth
thickly clad with snow;
Wandering where we're lost
for a while, embracing
seclusion that's yours and mine,
where air is fresh; awakening
those views of olden times.
We hunger for vistas spanning
far and wide, bridging closer
distant divide. Not like in town
where snow doesn't last; rain
comes down turning to watery
slush.
Even with December's frosty
bite, we are at one; spirited in
our adventurous plight. But
soon our day comes to an end,
for warmth of home we can
depend.
Strolling home to log burning
fire is all we now desire,
watching flames flicker and
rise; like a belly dancer's
movements they send out
warmth divine.
In imagination hearing snake
charmers melodious flute play
alluring tunes of charisma on
this day; till wildness abates
as the embers glow, and we
fall asleep after our walk in
December snow.

snow is here (well frost mainly in my bit) and we rise up to meet it, as you do in your poetry, but then we start hating it, but that's another story.

Beautiful images
I could see the snowy hills and feel the crispy air, then the cosiness of coming home after being in the cold. Wonderful sensation beautifully captured!

I didn't know
I didn't know you have so much snow in England Jenny? Is it unusual? We are having record rainfall figures in South-Africa and widespread flooding.
There were some critical internal elections now, Parliament, and ANC Party Conferences and President Ramaphosa came out very strong. Great.
All the best and Wonderful Christmas! Tom
