Dark, mild December morning
dripping trees, wet grass, soggy mulch,
wan white sun in the light grey cloud,
mist up the hill, stillness.
______

Whirling whiteness across the Atlantic
freezing, imprisoning indoors.
______

Bright sun, azure sky,
glistening grass,
light frost melted,
vivid dark shadows.
______

Downpour crashing, dark morning,
clearing, sunlight returning.

'Dripping trees, soggy mulch, wan white sun' very evocative of my winter walk this morning. These dark mornings feel oppressive. The whirling whiteness across the Atlantic is frightening. I am grateful for some mild December temperatures.

Thanks, yes, and those mornings of glittering sunshine and contrasting shadows can be very beautiful, though a bit cooler, but not the icy cold! And it's good to have warmth to return to. Rhiannon
