Waiting for Spring

Sitting here waiting
Waiting for spring
A sky the colour of dirty milk
Blankets the cityscape
Skeletal grey
Our house, curated confectionery
A dream in pastel
Life-saving orchids
Artful bastion against the gloom
Under siege
Bitter cold has bitten us with snow
This dirty laundry sky needs bleaching
One week until spring
I would like to paint triumphant landscapes on the windows
Or hibernate like smarter animals do

I think the anticipation in
I think the anticipation in grey and cold just before Spring can make the arrival of Spring in blossom or warm sun on the face an emotional experience. Lovely ideas expressed in this around the wish for Spring. It's our Pick of the Day. Do share on Facebook and Twitter.

Sometimes I think it would be
Sometimes I think it would be so nice to live somewhere it was warm all year round, but nothing quite beats the rush of pleasure when spring happens does it? Mind you, the grey and cold seems interminable this year - you poem sums it all up beautifully. Congratulations on the well deserved golden cherries!

hiberantion is good, painting
hiberantion is good, painting on windows is good too, just make sure they're your own.
