Dear diary...as Summer Solstice

arrives on Wednesday 21st June

2023, I decided to celebrate with

a poem.

 

 

Softly solstice will arrive, sustain

me into my waking day; opening

curtains golden dawn approaches,

and in admiration aura leaves me

with intoxicating energy; a Stone

Henge union spied on my horizon,

as I gaze to the east.

 

On reflection it seems trees also

turn to welcome sun, and I with

them salute swift miracle of a

brand new day; when enjoying

transient respite...giving rise to

freshness –

 

a bridge between darkness and

first light, when throng of stars

are no longer visible; soon their

slumbering is shared by moon.

 

When glowing dazzles and my

thoughts are humid, so I mark

time with art and vibrant music;

and blackbird will trill a greeting

to guide me on my way.

Hi insert,

being able to watch the sun rise is so awsome and unexpected, which is why I couldn't resist capturing it in a poem.

Hi Jack,

the summer solstice is tomorrow, so you haven't missed it. The photo was of the sun rising in the east, I can't recall when I took it, but I do remember opening the curtains and the window and quickly grabbing my camera. It was so beautiful as the sun rose above the trees, with the sky still quite dark...very magical. Once the sun was rising, it wasn't long before daylight approached, but I must have been watching for at least 15 minutes, as the birds began to sing. A lovely experience was had.

This brings back memories of my visit to Stone Henge a few years ago now.  Very atmospheric.

Hi Jean,

I'm so glad I could take you back to your visit to Stone Henge. There's such a spiritual atmosphere that I could feel when I took the photo, with the aura that surounded the sun, and the trees in the still night sky seeming to be just as aware as myself...I know it's just my vivid imagination, but it put a smile on my face. smiley
