Curious Magic

What I feel takes me dew
drenched mingling with
nature, quietly slipping
away from reality into
reverie of fantasy;
imagination rambling
along where enigmatic
ambiance sets me free,
tracing a waiting trail
carpeted with richness
of autumn leaves...
then beneath haunted
shadows of naked trees,
from flimsy branch one
lonely leaf clings as if
afraid to let go –
I too feel that strength
to hold onto life, upon
which has enduring
virtuosity; when feeling
energy of exchanging
musings with whoever;
taking delight in shared
stimulating atmosphere,
for what is life but the
meeting of like minded;
we fall from dreamy
waterfall into flowing
inspirational rivers of
thought, soaking our
aspirations while
quenching thirst
for wake of new
tomorrows.

Holding on to life like a
Holding on to life like a clinging leaf: quite a picture! especially as we get older. And the stimulations of shared conversations, and fellowship flow, inspiring our thought into rivers.
I empathise with that, though also it means to me the flow of refreshment and guidance from the Spirit of God once in relationship with him.

A lovely anaology and a lingering optimism amongst your words. Nicely done, of course. Paul

your poems are always so
your poems are always so comforting :0) I admire so much too, how you express feelings, completely abstract things, in words. You really are a magician!

Don't let go of that flimsy branch Jenny. A bit of mulch round your roots and a mild winter and you'll be grand, I'm sure.
I completely agree with what's been said here about escapism. Reading the words of others and writing my own takes up part of every day for me now, armed with my little note book and my little phone.
Your writing is particularly inspiring. It takes me to your places where I have never been and to similar places of my own that perhaps I should appreciate more than I do. You're a regular wake up call.
I'm sorry it's taken me a while to read this. I've been away recently (twice) and I'm playing catch up. I'll try harder from now on.
