Cooler Than Yesterday

It's cooler than yesterday,
the meteorologist tells me.
Who are you kidding, lady?
it is midday and it's minus 3.
Perhaps it's my imagination
but the sun's shining bright
and although I'm freezing,
it is a reassuring sight.
The temperature may still
increase in the afternoon.
Yet I know from experience
I must not speak too soon.
If the wind changes course
it could bring an icy blast
much more severe than this:
it's happened in the past.
A cold precipitation could
bring about snow or sleet
a daunting prospect that
not every one will greet.
There is one thing though
that we have to remember,
conditions aren't unusual
for the month of November.

I'm always thankful that
I'm always thankful that brain surgeons and airline pilots carry out their work with a greater degree of precision than weather forecasters.
A good poem Luigi. Keep warm... stay cool.

Hi Luigi,
Hi Luigi,
great rhythm and rhyme to this icy poem.
I have to say that I love this weather, especially now I'm retired, it gives me that get up and go feeling. I'm able to do housework without sweating with the heat.
Going out for walks is a pleasure too, with my woolen hat and thick gloves, being wrapped up warm, I find walking invigorating. Then it's nice to come home to a hot drink and cozy up.
Thanks for sharing this poem about my favourite time of the year...but I do feel sorry for those that don't like this weather, or have to get up early for work, then it would definitely be brrrr!
Jenny. xx
