At the turn of the Year

At the turn of the year

despite, and not because of

All the cares in our world

Our Christmas tree still shines.

And in its little glow of hope

Maybe we can wish for a better

New Year when against the odds

Some good may yet come to be.

So I shall wish for you and me

A better year where at least

We at peace will hopefully be.

BTW. Probably not the place to ask for advise, but I'm having great difficulty in submitting poems from my saved Word docs. I just end up with the text randomly placed. I got this one up eventually, but with weird spacing.

Happy New Year, hope things go well in 2024.

Re the spacing problems, are you using the 'paste from Word' function when you upload? My stuff goes all over the place if I don't use that. If you are, then I'm out of any other helpful suggestions I'm afraid. Folk more technically adept than I am (ie almost anyone else on the site) may be more useful!

Thanks Jane, and may you year be a blessed one. Re the issue I have with posting on the site, it is an issue unique to ABCtales. What I have found best here is to save the Word doc. to a Notepad doc. and from there copy and paste on to the 'Create a Story' page as my poem. But when I go to 'save' the posted poem has the text randomly placed across the page. 

My last poem only got on to the site by my first posting it elsewhere, then copying and pasting from that site, which I don't like doing now - I really want to concentrate my efforts here. I think my best way forward is to experiment on the Create a Story page to see if I can get this solved. But thank you for your response.
