Before a black storm
Thus we are born.

I like brief poems too,
I like brief poems too, Dougie, and I like the sound of this, but I am perplexed at what the meaning of the thrid line would be?!
I've always been pleased when I've got something really brief, especially if it is liked by others! In Welsh historically there has been complex rules of 'cynghanedd' a sort of complex rhyme and consonant and vowel pattern system. I tried doing something similar in English, not particularly successfully but to try to show what it was all about! https://www.abctales.com/story/rhiannonw/english-englyn

Every child born
We are all born innocent, and Nelson Mandela said “a child is born free”.
Brilliant poem well done! Tom
