I like brief poems too, Dougie, and I like the sound of this, but I am perplexed at what the meaning of the thrid line would be?!

I've always been pleased when I've got something really brief, especially if it is liked by others! In Welsh historically there has been complex rules of 'cynghanedd' a sort of complex rhyme and consonant and vowel pattern system. Thanks Rhiannon, I was very interested in the Englyn discipline, it seems to be a form that works more naturally in Welsh, it already being such a poetic language.

With the poem, being so brief I try to make each word count; and my intention was for it to turn on the third line, with 'born' as the choice, either being born along by the storm or being born into the world, I leave it to the reader to choose. I was tempted to substitute So for Thus, but I think it work okay as it is.

Thanks Tom, and that age old question - are we born 'tabula rasa', or do we bring into life preconditioning; the sages and philosophers have been arguing over it for centuries.
