In Between The Night And Day
By Paul McCann
In between the night and day , homeless people find their way
To the places where they’re laid where the angels fear to tread .
Jesus wept , they’re on their own , trying to find their way home .
Begging for something to eat , as they pass by on the street .
Seeking shelter from the wind , eating from a rubbish bin .
Something are better forgot , sleeping in a parking lot
Waking up once more again , with that same old hunger pain
Your skin and bones are shaking and both your feet are aching
Walking all around the town until the cold night falls down .
,Trying to keep out of sight , in some waiting room at night ,
As your fingers all go numb waiting for the morning sun .
Then it warms up at long last and the dark night has gone past
No excuse for bad Hygiene, there’s lot of ways to keep clean ,
Shaving with a rusty blade , keeps your beard from being made
Showering with a fire hydrant what more can anyone want .

Bleak but profound, as it
Bleak but profound, as it should always be; thank you Paul.
