Happy Birthday to Me

Today, I am 89 years old.
I wake from my slumber
and it occurs to me that
89 is a prime number.

But unlike that number
I am not in my prime
although I've been told 
being old is not a crime.

I recall that in my youth
I used to rock and roll
but now my movement
is limited to a slow stroll.

This grandpa did indeed
rock around the clock.
If he did that nowadays
it would cause a shock.

I do not regret the fact
that I am not fit to jive
but am simply delighted
to be mentally alive.

Yes, dear Jenny, I believe that writing poetry, silly or otherwise, keeps my mind active and it is to be recommended.. There is a bit of a hazy sunshine but it promises to improve. At least it is dry.

I am enjoying my day, fellow Aquarian. I looked up the characteristics of people born under this zodiac sign and read: "Aquarians are clever, analytical, technical, truthful, assertive, confident, progressive and innovative"  They should also have said and modest with it. laugh

Hello Jane. I had a really good day and I am still being spoiled. I find the sofa more and more attractive these days. The only functioning part seems to be the brain but, all considered, can't grumble.
