Noble Friend

The righteous will grow as a great cedar in the promised land
planted by flowing waters, deeply rooted as a mighty oak
May God grant you good health, may you live to old age,
see your children’s children and peace upon the land
The Lord bless you with happiness,
your family's laughter around your table and fireside
In God put all your trust, all you do will prosper
Let the Lord rest you in shade in sleepy meadows,
Lead you to gentle streams, murmuring clear cold water
give soft rain on your pastures, orchards and vineyards,
on peaceful quiet hills and valleys, lush canyons
With heaven's dew and mist all the green will flourish
You will sow with hope and reap with singing,
your children bringing abundance vine and harvest
Enjoy the delight of pure sweet blood of your grapes
Eat the labour of your hands the increase of the fields
Joyful in thanksgiving will rise the voices of praise!
May God be merciful and shine his light ever upon you
Adore the Lord God as our Mighty Father and King
Find favour and love in his eyes, faith and living hope
with jubilation you will sing,
All my springs are in thee!
~
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee,
and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Thenk you. A beautiful
Thenk you. A beautiful rendering.
Reminiscent of many passages eg Psalm 23 – and as there we realise that it is fully fulfilled in the new earth and heaven as through chastening and trials our path here can lie for the honing of our faith and character, but even at such times the riches of his grace here shown are on our spirit through all even now. You must love God, and your
You must love God, and your neighbour as yourself; the two commandments would make all this happen and we would see an end to suffering.
