Ignore the Ministry of St. Paul:

let him advise Timothy,

on the place of women,

not us.
 

Silent, demure and obedient,

hats on, hair covered as if seated

away from side-locked men.

 

Where is the daughter of God?

Why God, and not Goddess?

 

Who bears the fruit that is Humankind?

Is not making a human

the work of deities?
 

Each of us,

the least of us,

is a miracle of love...

Not any bearded God.

unbeard us, indeed. Women, I find, are just nicer. More Christian.

 never really read of a female dictator, there have been a couple of female populist party leaders in Europe of late, but they haven't seized power/been elected yet. Just shows what politics is, a private boys club...

Interesting poem Ewan. Women assumed leading roles in the early church, an example being that of Pheobe, who Paul addresses (in Romans 16 1-2) as diakonos (deakon). And Jesus was notable for encouraging women as disciples - to the outrage of the authorities. And he did empower Mary Magdalen as the first Apostle when she took the news from the empty tomb to the disciples. It's now gone full circle, with ordained women helping to prevent the collapse of the Anglican Church
