Mudlarks

You can't revisit a river
or sift the same sand twice;
but you see yourself again
a distant figure on the flatland.
It yells in familiar gales
trades diadems for drill bits
with the sharp-beaked resolution
of the wire-throated mudbirds
flung in handfuls by coarse wind
among the marshy tumps.
Face-deep in grey reeds
you watch your mouth move
wait patiently for sound to follow sight.
Your ears may reach the words
but their meaning stays aloft.

Good to remember, A soft answer turns away wrath, keep your words sweet and soft and juicy you might have to eat them later.
Excellent! Keep well Morwenna & Nolan
