Bright Side - At Least it's Not a Haiku

Insta want permission to use data for AI development. Use our images to collate what interests people from topics posted to number of likes, I assume.
I objected.
The right to struggle, moan and grasp our creativity must be fought for, no AI brain-death future for us. Algorithms I can discern, but I object when big data gets insidious.
Microsoft update included something called ‘Copilot’* – uninstalled it.
Spookily, the same morning, Tripadvisor emailed that AI can help plan a trip. Our creativity, research and planning skills, and our spirit of adventure are all at risk from big tech. Of course, I wanted to run it just to see…but it’s a BETA version so looks like they are just collecting more big data for more advertising. I didn’t run it.
It said, ‘just choose what you’re into’. What I’m into – thinking for myself, freedom, independence, the creative struggle, the creative joy, failing, learning, the joy of unfolding physical maps, the pissed-offness of trying to fold said physical maps back up again, wandering, getting lost, finding ancient trees, standing stones, plotting leylines, chance of a seat and a nice cappuccino at the end.
Big Tech TripAdvIsor can’t handle what I’m into!
I worry for young people. All the joy and experiences they’ll miss out on if this persists. The less you use your brain, the less there will be to use. I see a future, and there is no fun, no learning, no adventure. Silver lining, ultimately, A.I. will be destroyed, by boring itself to death.
Old Big Brother had a plan,
A.I. A.I. Oh.
Sponge-ify all brains Hum-an,
A.I.A.I. Oh.
With a survey here and a survey there,
Here a prize, there a prize,
Gets you right between the eyes.
Old Big Brother had a plan,
They can go and shite.
Disclaimer: I can only apologise for this dreadful rhyme; possibly was high on wood-filler fumes at time of writing.

Have you ever tried to buy something on Ebay where the seller has ticked the yes box under 'would you like to let AI assist you to write your description'? I rest my case

Well said! I do agree that we could be in danger of losing all personal creativity and choice, by embracing this kind of collated thinking too much.
