Light in Darkness

Plot’s failure many celebrate
by fine displays of colourful light
brightening up the sky at night –
a sparkling starry vivid sight.
[All hidden schemes of evil seen
by One who can now intervene
and will soon all the frightful
malice end, suspend, defeat];
but for remembrance of the grace
and power of love, divine embrace,
soon Christmas comes – the silent night
a few poor shepherd’s sudden sight
and hearing of momentous message,
announcing entrance on earth’s stage
quietly of the full solution
to all and every fear and problem …
November, December
Light unquenchable remember, remember …
beacon bright in darkest night.

I liked the contrast between
I liked the contrast between noise of bonfire night and your the Silent Night at Christmas. Here, there have been fewer and fewer fireworks which must be a huge relief to all birds and animals, and some children.( There was a program about how terrifying fireworks can be for autistic children, was that so for your son?) It is a shame some celebrations of Light have come to mean noise, too

I really apreciate this
I really apreciate this Rhiannon for your tolerance for a different relion it is not so much different after all, it is actually very close to Christianity in the law and living of love. One of the very first principles of mainstream reigions are "You may not judge".
All the best! Tom

sorry
I'm sorry, don't know what to say I can be a bit of a doubting Thomas, but if I may, you seem to be very pre-occupied wth the idea of sin, there is much more than that in the Gospel, and in my mind I feel the things we do are not as important than those we don't do, in my mind. For example Jesus saying, They are not my children that call me Lord, Lord, but those who do the will of my father who is in heaven, and did to me as the leat of these. Not meaning to get into an argumentt, sorry again.
See you! Tom

"soon Christmas comes – the silent night
a few poor shepherd’s sudden sight.."
A beautiful transition from November to December and the forthcoming meaning of Christmas. I adore this time of year and certainly appreciated the imagery in your poem, Rhiannon.
