Winter Dreams

On river of dreams I float,
magical utopia where
visions are fulfilled;
breathing is effortless as
I feel natural rhythm in
balance with beating heart.
Many colours of Autumn
drift across forest in a
single moment of bliss,
tantalizing lucid attention;
fresh breezes cooling while
robin flaunts red breast in
display, showing authority
this chilly day.
Venture along rugged footpath
with eager excitement as
Winter's baby blue sky peeps
between overhang of old oak
limbs; still traces of leaves
loyally cling...not afraid to be
windswept, but like myself
determined and steadfast till
the end.

How lovely to have you back
How lovely to have you back writing again! This is beautiful, and wonderful to read after I've just spent an afternoon out in the freezing cold rain. Thank you for cheering me up.

It's so good to have visions
It's so good to have visions and memories of such places from the years of being able to visit, and refreshed with online or TV vidieos, but the miind being able to feel and so convey the feeling of being there, seeing and feeling the smell and detail of the surfaces. My husband tells me we have a robin who attends him while he gardens now! Rhiannon

You are so good at describing
You are so good at describing birds - I LOVED
"robin flaunts red breast in
display, showing authority
this chilly day" They really DO always look like they are in charge :0)
I am so happy you are improving! I am glad you are taking it gently though, these icy roads are scary to walk on

That's a beautiful seasonal poem full of vivid imagery.
Love the pen picture of possibly my favourite bird of all. I adore robins :)
