Getting A Word In
When I was a child I just sat there and smiled,
I kept quiet, as all children should,
Once in my teens I was foreign it seems,
Outspoken but less understood.
The rest of my life I've spent with my wife,
And she does the talking these days,
At the beginning I thought I was winning,
When I once squeezed a word in edge ways.
