Eternal

They pass in sedentary step
Eyes smeared with the spectre of life lost
Children stammering stride to keep pace
Chastised, in straightjacket ebony
Granite stares glaze the ground
As reality of finality
Bitters the air
Pondering worth I look to the
Moss shrouded testaments
From high-rise to bare earth
Whilst suffocating lilies
In synthetic
Synchronizing their
Bleeding cardboard goodbyes
Fingers scratch ceremoniously at tissue
Lips weld tight to irrepressible memory
Jaws sieze, defiant to closing word
Blankets are strewn by the craven
Worth does not rest here
Amoung dust and bone
It carries on the wings of tale
Inhaling with each pulse of recall
Whispering from ornament
Uttering from the innate curve of a c
It loiters illusion of a familiar face
Vying generation, distinct
Constant it survives
Out reaching death
In trail and trait
Eternal
