Insomnia

It's not so much the going to

sleep.

It's the staying there.

Usually at around

2:30am

I sit bolt upright

like a bolt

and then that's

it.

Usually my boyfriend

will wake up too and will

say

"Go write!"

So I do.

That's when I create these

things with my fingertips

these worlds where everything is

beautiful

amazing

perfect. Much better than

this real world we

inhabit.

Apparently.

My boyfriend

he never asks me

what I write

never reads it.

He's a scientist and

sometimes

I think I'm just one big

experiment.
