FAY'S SECRET

Fay had a secret.
She was told not to tell.
Within herself, she'd keep it,
And she kept it very well.
Fay was a pretty girl.
Such a lovely, sunny child.
She seemed carefree and happy,
A girl who always smiled.
That was, until the secret,
Forced its way inside of Fay.
Her folks asked Fay what was wrong,
But the young girl wouldn't say.
Fay's smiles had turned into tears,
She seemed troubled and afraid.
She'd sit and stare at nothing,
When before she often played.
For 'he' played with her; that man.
Fay's folks weren't even aware.
It was 'a little secret',
The man told Fay not to share.
But it felt bad and wrong to Fay,
She had such pain within.
The man told Fay he 'loved' her,
But Fay strongly disliked him.
Now a young woman, Fay reflects,
On 'that secret', as just a kid.
Fay told someone about it,
And thank her own sake she did.
