No and No and No

An old woman stopped me once
She sat on a plastic throne
Take it like a man, she said
And you'll never be alone
The rhyme stopped there, I think
Under her flattened foot
Her rhyme stopped there
Where mine stayed put
Her old porch creaked
Underneath her cats slept
I'll give you this and this, I said
She said, I'd take no less
And here the rhyme does stop:
No and no and no
I live above that wicked foot
And mostly just below
I try to live right next to it
And still I'm just below
Some white boy looks up
Some white boy looks my way
He thinks about the porch
Some white boy looks away
And here the rhyme does stop:
No and no and no
I hear she's dead, her
And her cats too
I hear she's dead, her
But not for you
