Unconditional love, what is it?

Unconditional love doesn't make demands.
Unconditional love gives without receiving.
Unconditional love is selfless.
Unconditional love doesn't exist,
nor should it!

Love has boundaries, and so it should,
you wouldn't jump from a bridge blindfold,
who would?
Love is a mutual respect and it is forgiving,
it makes sacrifices, and doesn't regret it.
It waits in the wings at every painful
dress rehearsal, only asking that you
be your best.

Love brought us life,
it's what keeps us alive.
So it goes 'round.
