A Flower For My Love

It's petals were radiant, shining in the light,
In blazing glory, a tremendous sight.
This flower, far more beautiful than gold,
More lovely than any jewel ever sold.
Birds and squirrels sometimes gathered there,
Butterflies and insects hovered in the air,
This flower, a star that brightened up the wood,
Pure and precious, wonderful and good.
I took the flower from its place by the stream,
I'm sure I heard the birds and squirrels scream,
A butterfly circled around my head,
It looked so angry with its wings of red.
I gave the flower to someone that I know,
So sure that someone, with her soothing glow,
Would keep the flower company,
That in her presence happy it would be.
For my love is more beautiful than gold,
More lovely than any jewel ever sold,
She is a star that brightens up the world,
Kindness personified, goodness unfurled.
