of French bassoons? Southend-on-sea
of Vegas? Dairylea of grilled haloumi?
Maybe.

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps,
salmon doubt their sense
of direction, boomerangs
change their minds.

Do mirrors dream of disco?
Balls, of Thierry Henry?
Do typewriters dream of poetry?
Yes, of course. Who wouldn't?

Me! Is that the correct answer? I liked this; it has left me wondering though what Southend dreams of.... I suspect Southend only has nightmares.

Thank you for your comment. You're my first - you deserve a prize! I'll dedicate the next poem to you (in a cheesy dj stylee) and it'll be a good'un! I think Southend does indeed have nightmares. I met a man there once who sold his poems on the sea front for a pound. I wonder if he's still about? Whatever you wish to be the right answer, is correct.
