Be warned; an outbreak of the limerick
has seeped between the lines of sonnets,
structured stanzas and prosey poems.
As viral as a meme;
ha! Notice that's just 'me me'!
Normally confident voices have been silenced
by a juggernaut of juvenalia sweeping aside
Sooz, Niki-seventy two and other favourites:
as selfish as a gene
-no part of generous that.

Is it the poetic forms or
Is it the poetic forms or the young 'uns that you're niggled by? Hmm?

I thought you were being
I thought you were being deliberately ambiguous?!
It would be nice to be able to have a 'hot list' where you can look for new writing by your favourites, but then you might miss out on random nuggets from others whose titles catch your attention!
No idea of a solution. Maybe if we could classify more than 'poem' and 'story' - have categories such as 'novel', 'short story', and types of poetry, e.g. 'free verse', 'limerick' etc?
Would this work? Is it possible?

You do sound frustated Ewan,
You do sound frustated Ewan, the only way to overcome is to just skip the kind of thing that annoys you most. I get a bit up tight at too much ambiguity, but then I think well it's me I'm being lazy and not giving it enough thought, which is an insult to the poet. So I try again to put an interpretation on what he/she is trying to say. It matters little whether he/she is talking about themselves or whoever/whatever I just try to remember that poetry is a matter of their emotions at the time of writing. Stop getting in a tizz and write your own thing. You're a great poet. Life's too short... OK I'll shut up *blushes* (-; Val

I have written to all who
I have written to all who break the rules on the 3 a day limit - and if they repeat the offence then I'll just remove stuff. It's a genuine error by most people and the sign up letter now includes a para pointing out the rule - so it should be a thing of the past very soon!
