Precious Pets

I met a new girl who likes pets,
So I bought her a cat just to please her.
After two or three days, she took in some strays,
Now I’ve two polar bears I my freezer.

I’ve got apes swinging round in the lounge.
And a lion asleep on the hearth.
There’s a couple of hares under the stairs,
And a dangerous fish in my bath.

There’s a Giraffe with its head through the skylight.
And a Zebra that’s wedged in the hall.
There’s a furry anteater, under the heater,
And a sea lion juggling a ball.

There’s a panther asleep in the kitchen.
And a snake hanging over my door.
There’s a laughing hyena, who’s annoying my cleaner,
By trampling mud on the floor.

I told the girl I was leaving,
When a turtle laid eggs in my shower.
She said "pack your case, I’ll be needing the space,
Cause my hippo arrives in an hour"
