No sky is big enough

No sky is big enough
to separate you and me.
Passion pink
candyfloss clouds
are laced only
with arsenic notions
of your betrayal.
Whisper sliver of a moon,
half hung on blood orange canopy
fast fading into black,
promises no undying love
on fevered brow.
It’s only icy craters
of hollow words
that dry up
a cold, dead heart.
A million crystal constellations
sewn into velvet night,
blink blindly
to answer no wishes
of youthful ardour.
Yet still I wished
that time turned back;
or at least, suspended
on a happy hour.
But there’s nowhere I can go
that’s far from you:
no shield for dagger looks
of killing disdain;
no deafened ears
to murderous tones;
no guarded minds
against flowing hate.
No,
there’s no sky big enough
to separate you and me.
