Empty night full of stars:
I am alone.
Blackness on blackness
A funeral-horse pulls a glass carriage
Full of blue roses.
Talking to a child on the grass,
Dandelion seedheads
Flutter time-splinters everywhere.
My today is yesterday,
So it seems.
A bright moon is blue, madder, rose,
Waxing, waning, eclipsing.
Yakety-yak, yakety-yak,
So goes the inept conversation,
A barrel full of hollow men
Sound out so noisily.
Yet silent is the night,
Full of empty.
Some star is me,
I try to grasp it.
I am part of this vast space, this eternity.
But like all goals, all impossibilities
It eludes me.
And the beautiful crocus opens its petals
To a new day broken by my reality.
