It is the day to celebrate one half of parentage
But my one half is about to lose his better half
Sixty two years of wedded bliss
The final fathers day without his lifelong soulmate
How will this man of great fortitude survive today
He & I both bear the poignancy of last of all calendar events
Words will disappear in the loss of future
A son is only a son until he takes a wife
My Father will soon lose that statement
His wonderful world, the love of his life
The sustenance of offspring will see him through
Dads are forever & Mums are too....
