Bereavement

Unendingly I mourn my precious mother
Who told me in this letter?
Not to grieve and make peace
Then things will begin to get better
But she is not here
She does not sleep
And she expects me not to weep
I hold on tightly to those who still stand
But I miss the way you hugged me
And always held my hand
I’m trying to stop the water from my eye
Run down my cold and frosted cheek
I used to wake from my dreams
Because I felt you were near
But as soon as I blinked
You began to disappear
I miss you mother
More than you could imagine
But now you living happily in heaven
Life goes on and I’ll make you proud
Just give me a month and then look down
Times gone on and I’ve said my prayers
But thank god the memories are still there.
