Coffee In The Wind
By Paul McCann
Poured my thoughts in a coffee cup ,
life’s so hard got to suck it up,
a cup of coffee’s not too bad
a gold nugget was all I had .
The taste of coffee’s bitter sweet,
when I needed a bite to eat
a little sip and it was gone ,
like my thoughts at the break of dawn
I savoured coffee in a cup
Just as the sun was coming up,
With all the day in front of me
To share with no else but me ,
A winter with no where to go
Felt like it was about to snow
a moment in time with coffee
as the wind blowing around me

Nice metaphor, coffee and
Nice metaphor, coffee and life - bitter sweet thoughts in a cup, drink them up and they're gone, like dawn- lovely imagery; finding warmth when you're alone and the snow and cold sets in, was a touching ending. I enjoyed your poem. And I enjoy a good cup of coffee; it's a warm, life affirming moment to start my day.
