As more information has been released, about the three people who were murdered in Nottingham this week, not much was said about the older gentleman.
Today we were given more details. We have been informed, he was age sixty-five, a father of three and a grandad.
He loved to help children from the school where he was the caretaker, he would take underprivileged kids fishing to keep them out of trouble. A touching tribute was from a child reads, “Thank you for rescuing me when I got stuck in the loo.”
His son, James said “He was ill and was advised to take time off.” James went on, “He was a grafter, getting up and leaving his house at 5am.”
A former Student tweeted, “He was a legend, one of the nicest guys you’d ever wish to meet, a true gentleman.”
He was due to retire, one colleague wrote, “So desperately sad that you didn’t get to enjoy your impending retirement.”
In four months’, time, he would not have been getting up at 5am to go to work, it is SO desperately sad.
It is beyond sad. Rest in Peace, Mr Ian Coats. x

It's all so heartbreaking.
It's all so heartbreaking. Those young people with all their lives ahead of them, and this gentleman with memories and experiences he should have had time to savour, reflect on and share. Very very sad.
