LIKE A CHINA DOLL

You lie in the box, like a china doll,
Though I don't think you're there at all.
Your face is there, but it's not the same;
Just a still life portrait that remains.
I look at your shell, thinking to myself;
Where are you now? Just where are you now?
For you're not in the box. Your spirit, your soul,
Leave nothing to see but this china doll.
I didn't come here to say goodbye.
I said goodbye the day you died.
So why am I here? Or don't I know?
Well, now I guess it's time to go.
I've still got my memories of you.
Nothing can take them away from me.
I won't think of this china doll.
I'll think of all you used to be.
