HAND TO HOLD

A hand to hold on a restless night,

That reassures things will be all right.

A hand that reaches out with such care,

That behaves like it wants to be there.



A hand that won't stab me in the back,

Slap me about or shoo me away.

A hand that won't steal something of mine,

And ruin an otherwise fine day.



I want to touch a wonderful hand,

It would be so lovely if I could.

I want to feel a comforting hand;

And a body attached would be good.
